72 Seasons is nothing but crunching, heavy riffs for its entire duration, with no ballads or clean guitars in sight (barring the final track). Many tracks share a similar tempo and vibe, with riffs that often feel derivative of their past works, resulting in a blend of their 90s records mixed with their more thrashier and heavier stuff. Grungey, raw, and chuck full of bangers. One of Nickelback's best. No bad songs. Overhated.
The anger and unpleasant production are what make this an interesting listen, with Purify being one of the songs that best demonstrates these qualities. Like with Load, give it a chance.
