first time i heard this album i enjoyed it but didn't go back to it much besides the title track and cherry coloured funk, but on a relisten OMG THIS IS AMAZING, actually one of the most beautiful and ethereal pop albums i've ever heard
idk what to say this is genuinely horrifying to listen to, this definitely isnt really an album i’m gonna return to very often but it’s one hell of an experience i don’t think i’ve ever heard anything like this
unreal vocalist, excellent musical arrangements, beautifully lush production and full of emotion. i will say tho it is pretty stevie wonder esque but it honestly doesnt bother me in the slightest, perhaps it makes me like it even more lol. also this is stupidly underrated as well like wtf?? shoutout king krule for mentioning this album in a video
boards of canada are back with what is probably album of the year for me so far this is unbelievable!! such an unsettling yet beautiful soundscape and in my opinion their best produced album yet, it left me wanting to replay this and pick up on new details as well as figure out more about what this album is trying to say, which says a lot about how good this is
i was not expecting this to be so funky and energetic, at times it reminded me of the psychedelic funkiness of funkadelic (haha get it) and sly and the family stone, but it still has that strange and exciting energy miles always brings to the table in his jazz fusion era material. everything about this album is just pure fun wacky awesomeness!!
excellent blends of indietronica, slacker rock and psychedelia and the lo-fi production mixed with this spacey atmosphere gives this album a strangely nostalgic yet futuristic quality overall, it feels familiar yet unlike anything i’ve heard before
i definitely need to relisten to this when im in the right mood idk why but this just didnt really click with me, at least not on a first listen anyway
huge fan of this although i do think the best songs on here kinda overshadow the rest of the album, still really love this regardless
a gorgeous psychedelic experience with super lush instrumentation, infectious melodies and songwriting, and satisfyingly thick production. it blends all my favourite elements of genres such as neo-psychedelia, dream pop and vaporwave to make for a beautifully colourful and explosive listen
what is possessing julian to think this gacked out autotune sounds good
something about this era and style of music gives me so much nostalgia despite never hearing most of these songs before
john cena wrote an entire rap album and it’s actually not bad 😭
probably the most fun and colourful album i've heard from zappa
