I got this album a listen, along with "Maid Of Honour" and "Habibti". I think this was better than his 2 other albums that recently dropped. But I think he could've respond the whole Kendrick beef in a different way, like in a sort of "admitting he lost and reconcile with Kendrick" way, but instead dragged it on and taking shots at LeBron James and A$AP Rocky. Also why the fuck was this on the album: "K-Y-S-A-S-A-P" when I first heard that, it felt ... read more
This is a fantastic classic gem from Freddie Gibbs and Madlib, the perfect sequel to their also classic gem "Pinata" I loved everything about this record. Great features, goated production, perfect wordflow, and so many things along with it. "Crime Pays" was the very very very first song that got me into both the rapper Freddie Gibbs, and the producer Madlib. I preferred this over Pinata as I had memories of bumping the hell out of this record.
ABSOLUTE BANGER. ABSOLUTE HARDCORE. AND ABSOLUTE HEAVY AS FUCK! This is the album that (in my own opinion) reinvented the nu-metal genre with more aggressive vocals, intense drumming, and heavily using of samples. This album also helps to make you feel more energetic with songs like "Eyeless" "Surfacing" and "Spit It Out". Greatest album ever from 1999 and all time.
This album is literally the album of the summer with the vibes it's giving. I love the jazz sounds, I love me some of the RnB in it. And I love how atmospheric it is. This is also the album to listen to while in a swimming pool on a warm summer day in June. And, if you're looking for a album with a summer atmosphere with a sexy vibe, this is your go to for it.
Favorite Track: Just A Stranger
Least Favorite: Killer (it's a good track, too. btw)
I had this on repeat for about 3 times. And I could say that this record is unique with how Carti is able to adapt to lots of genres, I mean it's called "MUSIC" for a reason, but then there were some lows on this record, such as weird productions through 30 songs, some songs being only full of ad-libs like "CRUSH" and speaking of ad-libs, the Swamp Izzo sound irritates me on some songs, it's almost like somebody was spamming a sound on soundboard throughout this ... read more
