I got this album a listen, along with "Maid Of Honour" and "Habibti". I think this was better than his 2 other albums that recently dropped. But I think he could've respond the whole Kendrick beef in a different way, like in a sort of "admitting he lost and reconcile with Kendrick" way, but instead dragged it on and taking shots at LeBron James and A$AP Rocky. Also why the fuck was this on the album: "K-Y-S-A-S-A-P" when I first heard that, it felt ... read more
This is a fantastic classic gem from Freddie Gibbs and Madlib, the perfect sequel to their also classic gem "Pinata" I loved everything about this record. Great features, goated production, perfect wordflow, and so many things along with it. "Crime Pays" was the very very very first song that got me into both the rapper Freddie Gibbs, and the producer Madlib. I preferred this over Pinata as I had memories of bumping the hell out of this record.
ABSOLUTE BANGER. ABSOLUTE HARDCORE. AND ABSOLUTE HEAVY AS FUCK! This is the album that (in my own opinion) reinvented the nu-metal genre with more aggressive vocals, intense drumming, and heavily using of samples. This album also helps to make you feel more energetic with songs like "Eyeless" "Surfacing" and "Spit It Out". Greatest album ever from 1999 and all time.
This album is literally the album of the summer with the vibes it's giving. I love the jazz sounds, I love me some of the RnB in it. And I love how atmospheric it is. This is also the album to listen to while in a swimming pool on a warm summer day in June. And, if you're looking for a album with a summer atmosphere with a sexy vibe, this is your go to for it.
Favorite Track: Just A Stranger
Least Favorite: Killer (it's a good track, too. btw)
I had this on repeat for about 3 times. And I could say that this record is unique with how Carti is able to adapt to lots of genres, I mean it's called "MUSIC" for a reason, but then there were some lows on this record, such as weird productions through 30 songs, some songs being only full of ad-libs like "CRUSH" and speaking of ad-libs, the Swamp Izzo sound irritates me on some songs, it's almost like somebody was spamming a sound on soundboard throughout this ... read more
When I first played this record, I was loving everything about it. It's a mix of my favorite genres: jazz and hip-hop, and it's one of the best records to this day. "Excursions", "Buggin' Out", and "Jazz (We've Got)" are the 3 tracks that got me listening to this whole album. R.I.P. to Phife Dawg
The most classic debut from non other than MF DOOM. With a classic record like this, you could never go wrong with it when there's so many enjoyable tracks. "Doomsday" was one of the 3 songs that got me into MF DOOM.
I gave this album a listen just to see if it was bad as people say it is, and me personally, this album had some effort, but ehhh.. it's more of a disappointment overall with only about 3 good songs. This album drags on the same bland melancholic sounds. I felt as though some features carried this album (SOME features, not all features) but I won't go full into detail on those features. And the writing felt repetitive throughout.
wtf is this, only got into the first 8 songs and I couldn't get to the rest with how each song was boring me out my fucking mind, same ass bland with drug-inducing sounds ("drug-inducing" in a semi-bad way) and repetitive lyrics about nonsense. This album is the example of little to no effort being put into it.
Me personally, this album is so unique and creative with Rocky being able to adapt to other different genres as the album progresses. Although, at first listen there was some tiny flaws to this project with some tracks feeling ehhh…. But those tracks starts to grow on me after many listens. And overall, this is one of the best projects to ever come out this year.
