Despite being a singer-songwriting album, this record mainly shines on the production and vocals. Unfortunately the songwriting is very basic on here. Even with the production it can be very generic and bland at times. I think Maggie played it safe, and not many songs stand out by themselves. There are some songs on here I would go back to, but I can’t see myself returning to the full album much. My favorite track was: “It Was Coming All Along”

The biggest issue I had with Tyla’s EP was that a lot of the songs sounded too similar to “Water”. I still had hope that her full album wouldn’t be like that. Unfortunately that was the case again here. I wish there was more to the production. I found a lot of songs to be forgettable because of all this. It felt one note. Nothing on this record is bad, but overall it isn’t very interesting. My favorite track was “No 1”

I’ve never heard about this band before, but the positive reception and the name caught my attention. I decided to give this album a listen, and what a pleasant surprise it was! There are many standout tracks on here. I love the production, with the guitar and dreamy vibe.
