Developing their sound further from their first album, this album is great. It shows them evolving their sound and Justin's writing with a lot of songs having to deal with mental health themes, which becomes something he talks a lot about in the albums following this one. There's a lot of good songs here and some of my favorites are on here, but it has some stinkers like "Angel". The first half of the album starts off so strong and while yes, the second half of the album ... read more
This album is some of Blue October's best work and my favorite album by them. The writing here is in my opinion some of his most saddening as well as some of his most angry lyrics. This album doesn't have a skippable song, besides 3 Weeks, She Sleeps. "Ugly Side" is an emotional ride delving deep into what he says and having the pivotal "Calling You" being an alternative rock anthem and bringing them out into the mainstream. This era of Blue October we'll ... read more
A very predictable album. Just another break-up album to add to the list of break-up albums. The lyrics aren't the best and seems to follow a linear path of typical bland break-up pop songs. There are some songs I get enjoyment out of, but it gets so tiring hearing the same things said over and over again. I loved the album when it first came out but returning to it and re-listening to the whole thing again, I didn't see the magic it once had when it debuted. The slow songs seem tacky ... read more
Releasing 1 song per month, it kind of tainted the experience of the album, already hearing and knowing every song that was going to be on it. There is a good amount of filler on here and tracks I never come back to. A weak project by one of my favorite EDM artists.
Fav Tracks: Party Monster, Dead Zone, Bark at the Moon, Save Myself
"Gods & Gold". Enough said. Adding guitars to some of the tracks adds a good diversity to this album. I have nothing bad to say about this album.
Fav Tracks: Gods & Gold, Supernatural, Echoes, If I Die, Mourning Doves
I never thought he would ever re-record or re-do his "Necessary Response" album, but damn I'm so happy he did. It sounds so good re-done and gives people a look at a not-so well-known album by another alias of his. All of these tracks were cut from his 1st album "Close to Human" as they didn't fit the sound and feel of it. A way mellower album, but way more lyrical and emotional, and is a spectacle to behold.
Fav Songs: Vapor, Never Enough, Elements, Devotion, ... read more
A switch in lyrics from the previous "All Beauty Destroyed", "'Til Death" focuses more on love themes. You can see a slight change in style and is way less harsh then his other projects. His vocals and production on this album sound great, and I don't have any complaints about this album.
Fav Tracks: Antibody, Lights Out, Oh, Gloria!, The Dark Half, Lovesick
"All Beauty Destroyed" in my opinion is Aesthetic Perfection's best work. This is electro-industrial/EDM bliss. The intro track "A Nice Place To Visit" starts the album off in full motion with an immaculate song. Every song on this album is great. "Inhuman", "One and Only", "Filthy Design", and "The Little Death" are some of the best songs of his career, coming with cutthroat lyrics and catchy instrumentals that get stuck in your ... read more
This album is good. "The Ones" is one of his best tracks hands down, and "Spit It Out" is a EDM banger. A lot of the album can fall on deaf ears, but the stand out tracks stand out from all the rest. "A Quiet Anthem" and "Pale" are great deep cuts off the album as well. A good experience but some of these tracks ca definitely be background noise.
Some of Alice In Chains' best writing, "Jar of Flies" is a grunge, acoustic masterpiece. "Nutshell" is a masterpiece of a song, "Rotten Apple" is an amazing opening track, "I Stay Away" and "Don't Follow" are some of the their best non-single songs to be released period. This is a twistedly beautiful album from beginning to end, and listening to the MTV Unplugged versions of some of these songs, it makes the album more impactful. Also, ... read more
This album hurts. It is some of the most heart-wrenching project I've ever listened to. Creating an album after his wife's death, the songs hit harder than ever and will make you shed some tears. It's a hard listen knowing the subject matter, and it's what makes it one of the saddest most vulnerable albums of all time. The impact of this album is undeniable and is 100% worth a listen.
I've been waiting for this album since the moment it was announced. Robert Smith saying "this is some of his most vulnerable and darkest work" I had to hear it. It's truly an amazing experience. It's a very dark and depressing album, and you can hear the pain in the lyrics mixed with the melancholy tone of the album. I am not disappointed in the slightest loving almost every project they've ever put out. This brings me back to "Disintegration" and this is ... read more
This is the best Suicide Commando album. Has some of his best lyrics, has some of his best beats, and it's an overall great experience. It's one of those albums I come back to a lot. "Die Motherfucker Die" is a great single and is a catchy murder anthem which is weird to say, but it's genuinely so good. "God Is In The Rain" is the best song on the album, even though the lyrics get repetitive. "Until We Die" is a great outro track and the album never ... read more
If you listen to Suicide Commando, you're getting a typical Suicide Commando album. Violent lyrics, aggrotech beats, intense vocals. While it's not the best album in his catalogue, it's a decent album. The samples used fit well with the album and while all the songs are long, it's good music to get crazy with. While it's not my favorite album by him, it's fun to listen to.
One of their most-well known albums, "Echogenetic" is a decent album, but it's been tainted with the dubstep era. It comes off as cringe now knowing the oversaturation of dubstep and how tacky it seems now and days. Two of their most popular songs are on here, but the dubstep really kills this album. It's not bad, but not innovative or amazing.
"Improvised.Electronic.Device" is the album FLA needed to redeem themselves. The mixture of pure electro-industrial tracks and Industrial-Metal tracks is great, and taking a minor break is what they needed to make another great album after releasing so much music so quickly, releasing an album around every 2 years. "Hostage" in my opinion is one of their best, catchiest songs out there and is such a good listen. "Angriff" and "Shifting Through The Lens" ... read more
An improvement from "Civilization". Still sounds and blends in with the projects that proceed it (Civilization and Epitaph). "Low-Life" is a great single from here and really helps carry the album. The album is bad, just a mid release. This era of FLA isn't the greatest, but this is the best album from this era of them.
As much as I love FLA and them being one of my favorite industrial bands out there, this album is very forgettable and they don't do anything to innovate here. I've tried to like this album but it's just not the FLA I know. It seems very lazy and dry. It's a boring album.
Fav Tracks: Transmitter, Civilization
Least Favs: Strategic, Dissident, Schicksal
A very forgettable album. There's not really much of substance here, only "Epitaph" being the stand out track. Every other tracks is forgettable and feels like they're no longer evolving, staying stuck in the past and trying to capture the success they had in the early 90s.
Not much changed with this album and their last effort "FLAvour of the Weak". It feels like this album has a lot of filler and can't stand on it's own without the singles and the other tracks. Some of the songs on here are definitely boring like "Synthetic Forms", "Torched", and "Unknown Dreams" but one thing about this album is that the singles really make this album so much better and we're constructed beautifully. "Prophecy" ... read more
