For me, the energy on this record has been a top 5 experience out of all the albums I have listened to. While I think some of these songs need to be a bit longer, the overall performance and production makes up for this. Inspirational lyrics as well. Self improvement and self awareness of not being perfect. Putting his life in the hands of God is a relevant topic in this EP. Authentic music is peak music.
The rage sound and his voice provide a nice contrast that I thought I never needed. It's an interesting direction for sure. Makes me more interested in the upcoming album.
Do people not realize that this is a throwaway/demo/idea searching compilation going thru the journey of Macs creative process. It’s inspiring in ways. Are the 9 hours worth of music going to be great pieces of work? No. Are they doing the job as it’s intended? Absolutely.
I have been listening to Earl since 2013. His music has always had a special place in my life. This project is great. Production is to Earls standards. Lyrics are good. He continues to be a staple in rap (imo) but regardless of my opinion ab that.. this is a great project. TOURMALINE also may be one of the best Earl songs I’ve heard too.
