chill avant-garde, with a side of jazz and glitch pop, with some strong, in your face production to boot.
J-metal at its finest. Banger to another banger, and surprisingly melodic at times???
Rhythmically diverse drumming, brutal guitar riffs and vocals. A pretty good technical death metal album overall.
Its chill, its a more play it in the background type album, and honestly, its good as an album for background noise. But I wouldn't say its mind blowing enough to listen by itself
A surprisingly good amount of songs here, especially the singles, but the less popular songs were also good. And I also like the switch ups from acoustic ballads, to half country???? to hard rock, and Adam's vocals are genuinely great
One of the most beloved noise rock/avant prog records of the decade and includes some of the most noisy and crazy non metal/hardcore instrumentals I have heard, and that's the best parts of the album, I love the crazy, noisy, sometimes industrial feeling guitar work and loud drumming. But those longer songs though drag on for a while, and while still good, are still worse than the noiser sections of the longer songs.
a haunting, depressing, loud album about nihilism and alienation, and for its worth, its not as good as people say. Sure I love the atmosphere of this record, i.e. minimalistic drum fills, self deprecating lyrics, drony guitar riffs, and quiet and somber production. But sometimes it doesn't feel like this depressing or meaningless album that people like to say
A short but sweet listen, and a nice break from tyler's more experimental and intracrine production, although, it does drag on a bit from time to time.
surprisingly funky, some of the most unique drumming of this era, super energetic mathy prog rock, and wild bass playing and riffs, a fun and relatively short experience. It does start a bit rocky though and sometimes the instrumental is being too drum oriented.
the noisy production, the intense vocal performances by Alex, the loud guitar riffs, the whack as drum fills and bass. Not only that, Lyrics about violence, paranoia and nihilism make this one of the best 'nihilism' core albums as I like to call it.
But i cannot forgive Alexis for what he has done to Kristin.
i was not expecting much, but this was really enjoyable, the intense moments like stockholm syndrome and hysteria were really good especially, the more quiet and sad parts were also pretty good
the start of one of alternative music's most beloved and respected artists of the modern era and it definitely shows on House Of Balloons.
some solid rapping by the duo, but it could better on some of the production
one of the best and most consistently impressive metal records to come out of the modern era, highly recommending coming back to this one:)
