UTOPIA is Travis Scott’s redemption at his darkest hour. For an artist that drops once in a blue moon, Travis understands it’s necessary to continually push his boundaries with each new release. To stare the obvious, there is insane Kanye and particularly YEEZUS influence on this project. Travis really steps outside his comfort zone with his longest runtime since RODEO. Not a single feature misses with this project, and Travis raps his absolute best game yet.
where i think it lacks in hard hitting emo bops, Science Fiction makes up for in writing and execution.
katy perry covered sucked, but rock off an overpass made me cry my eyes out
a brief glimpse of genius that would be prevalent on DAG (2006) i honestly wasn’t feeling this project till Tommy Gun. then i sat in silence and cried the rest of this project. fuck you Jesse. - a fellow long islander.
Astrophysics production meets gothic classics to create one of the most intriguing cover albums of all time. The song, in general, fit well with Astrophysics bleak aesthetic. However, I think the atmosphere here is lacking compared to last years HOPE LEFT ME. I also think Miku’s tuning here falls flat and feels a smidge two dimensional. Nevertheless, I am still thoroughly immersed in Astrophysics production. Also The Killing Moon is phenomenal.
nonstop blend of J-rock and shoegaze hitting me hard.
All hopes and dreams have left me, and now only despair remains. I find myself lost in the insane atmosphere of this records production. It’s so full despite being essentially similar to most other modern DNB records. However, the atmosphere is just so soul crushing that it almost drowns out the equally depressing writing.
Nakamura goes absolutely nasty. Pink Tape consists of mostly bops and the one-off flops. However, Uzi struggles to find a solid footing balancing the multiple genres across these 90mins.
