I figured I'd make an actual review for this since its quickly become my favorite album ever created. Donuts by the one and only J Dilla. This is the most eerie, sad, heartbreaking, joyful, and bittersweet album I've ever listened to. I've watched alot of videos of people reacting to this album, going over the chops, and in general searched for more stories on Dilla since he was such an anomaly, and I was desperate and eager to get to know the man who made this beautiful ... read more
NOT a bad record whatsoever, but definitely different and rather experimental for its time. The Roots are Jimmy Fallon's house band and they are a DAMN good house band at that, they've worked with some of my favorite hip hop artists of all time such as Mos Def, J Dilla, Common, and Erykah Badu, and Its really nice to listen to this record to show where they were at when they were beginning their journey to becoming arguably the best hip hop group of all time. I've always been a hip hop head, one thing that stands out to me alot is the fact that I've listened to Michael Jackson before but always assumed that Thriller was a bit overrated? but I finally got down to listening to it fully and it really is as good as people say it is. The only reason Im giving it a 95 is simply because of the fact that I could only see myself coming back to only a few of these songs, since most of them have been overplayed alot, and I think the only one Im not ... read more
Yeah that was pretty good! Vince has always been a bit different to me, the tracks and albums I've listened to him have ALL been COMPLETELY different experiences for me. The first record I heard from Vince was Big Fish Theory, and that album was probably the first album of experimental rap that I've ever experienced and it was AMAZING. Second album I listened to was Dark Times which came out a couple years ago, and I also found extremely well made and rapped. This album has a Trap ... read more
It really isn't the best thing in the world, and it has a lot of shocking lines to it that in my opinion, wasn't very necessary? but a 66? Im so confused on how anyone could say this album is below a 7, It really isn't that bad and it has a ton of bangers on it. Yen, babygirl, Burning Hammer, New Era, Chat, and GYBB are all solid songs that go into Peggy's already impressive discography, and I think that people deciding this album isn't very good are just mad that he ... read more
