For a remix package of arguable one of the most beloved Riddim projects of last year, Veggie Friends Remixes manages to not only keep the quality of production with its 18-song tracklist, but also manages to introduce a few new names to the label alongside some returning names and even a few family members sharing their skill. Much like the original EP, I felt about half and half when it came to the overall tracklist of which ones I thought were good and which ones I felt were lacking. If you ... read more
In a disappointing turn of events, this is the first release from Sounds of Mayhem to disappoint. It's the second installment of their apparently bi-annual compilation series, "The Uprising" and while there are some tracks that I can enjoy here, almost nothing about it really makes me wanna come back to it all that much. There are some song with interesting ideas, such as "Break" and "Watch Me", but not really much outside of that. The overall collection of tunes ... read more
After listening to "Renaissance" earlier this year, I was convinced that Apashe just wasn't an artist that full intrigued me with his sound, and "Antagonist" officially confirms it. With "GUTS", is' more-or-less the same but also an improvement at the same time. It's an album that really focuses on the struggles that come with leaving your teenage years and becoming a more mature version of yourself. ... read more
The original album is already one of the most unique Dubstep records of 2023, but now with this Deluxe offering, we not only get a Reimagined version of my least favorite track from the original, but also a good handful of remixes, most of which I actually enjoy quite a bit! I was surprised by some of the names here because I didn't think they would pull a fast one on me, but most of the remixes here surprised me in a pretty good way. I wouldn't say it ads much to the original album as it is ... read more
