Fear Inoculum is one of the most elusive projects in the music industry, with the band confirming it's existence all the way back when 10,000 days released. Since then it's been teased and previewed constantly, to the point where when it finally released in 2019, the anticipation for it was at a boiling point. Tool is famous for their incredibly complex music composition, so many expected this project to be one their most technical releases. Unfortunately, the long wait ended up hurting this album, with many being disappointed and dissatisfied with the final product. Maybe it's because I wasn't around for the hype of this album, but I personally think Fear Inoculum is a bit of an overhated record. It is most definitely Tool's weakest release, with many songs being very boring and not up to snuff with 10,000 days musically. Actually, the entire record as a whole is boring, with no concepts that we haven't already seen from the band. I personally think it's still an enjoyable experience though, despite it's issues. It would have been nice to be given a little bit more though.
