At a time where queer and transgender rights are more under threat than ever, its important to highlight queer and transgender artists that has had a major impact on the industry and wider culture as a whole, and very few people has as much influence and inspired as many artists as SOPHIE. Her work in the 2010s led to whole new genre of music that continues evolving to this day, Hyperpop. she pushed boundaries and never gave up on her artistic vision all the way up until her tragic death in ... read more
Rerecord monomania you lazy fucks
Cshr thought they could recapture the mirror to mirror moment with teens of denial. Forgetting how unnecessary such a thing is.
American football is back! After the success of the LP1 Remix album American Football returns with a well sequenced, high quality post rock album, even if I think most of the songs are a little lackluster and the features don't fit in super well. Speaking of which, not having Ethel Cain on the album after that jaw dropping for sure remix is one of the biggest mistakes this band will make
How this album has Hayley Williams and Mike Kinsella on the same song that didnt become a generational alt hit is beyond me.
What's next for her, she already conquered space
This album is easy listening final boss. It's very lush and approachable despite its long song lengths. Unfortunately this album is so easy to listen to that it starts becoming really boring really fast. The songs don't get worse, every song is super good! It's just the album lost my interest more and more as I got deeper into it.
I first heard of RAYE when she released My 21st Century Blues back in 2023. I didn't ever listen to it, so she slipped my mind until "WHERE IS MY HUSBAND" Dropped. Ever since then I've been really excited for this album, and now that it's out I'm so glad to say that it's quite the spectacle!
On "THIS MUSIC MAY CONTAIN HOPE", RAYE pulls out every technique in musical theatre to craft a world and a story that is engrossing and emotional. She even ... read more
i cant tell if the ssss thing is automatic on aotys part of if this is one of the most dedicated this site has been to a bit ever
update: its automatic thats actually so awsome
This is extremely high quality, high energy pop punk. The opener is a great song but I feel like it doesn't really represent the rest of the album, it sorta surprises you, which is a good thing. Some of the tracks in the middle feel kinda samey but it's all so good. My biggest issue is the song lengths. All these songs are way too short, it's 17 tracks long but the album totals to only 37 minutes. I want to hear songs breathe and Jeff Rosenstock doesn't let them flourish ... read more
Aoty doing this album DIRTY. It is so much better than 1 because it leans in to its sound even harder than the first, which produces more interesting music.
definitely not better than the original but its a great take on the song!
This album isn't actually that bad, it just lacks something special.
I was at a store and stumbled upon this album as well as impurfekt's previous releases on a shelf. Picked them up because I thought that they looked really interesting. And my assessment was right, because Aaron Russell, the musician behind Impurfekt, make something really cool here! Yeah it's a little amateur, and the vocal style Aaron has can be kinda corny sometimes, but the album kept me invested all the way through and had plenty of really unique moments that you would only find ... read more
Bruno mars loved working with anderson.paak so much that he decided to just rip off paaks whole vocal style with some of the least interesting latin pop instrumentals out there.
This album has a lushness to it that we haven't seen from Gorillaz in over a decade. I'm so glad it's back.
