Been a while since I listened to this again, and honestly feels like kind of an improved version on what they did on Death Magnetic. It absolutely has it's moments and plenty of notable songs, but a lot of the second half can just feel dull at times. The first four songs are really good to great, Disc 1 it's definitely the better one, and to be completely honest Disc 2 is only worth it for Spit Out The Bone, which is my pick for the song of the album by far.
Wow this is so much fun
This band is just so catchy and know exactly how to pull the strings to make some really fun comedic power metal. There are some really tremendous bangers on this album in particular. It is also crazy that they got Fabio Lione himself from Rhapsody of Fire to do probably my favorite song of the album. a new Anthrax album wasn't on my 2026 bingo but I am so ready for it
I'm honestly very confused about what to think of this album.
On one hand, I am not really a fan of it - it's very simple, kind of generic, and doesn't have that much to offer besides a few exceptions if I'm being completely honest.
On the other hand, I like how they're trying to kind of find themselves here by trying something that's different to the stuff that we usually do, getting Johnny Reeves as a lead vocalist was a great choice, and he is great on here. ... read more
