Is there something I'm not getting with this record? I constantly see it touted as one of the greatest albums of all time when I personally thought it was just alright. What brings the rating down is that I don't like how the guitar sounds sometimes, the drumming isn't all that good (Heroin, for example,) and I personally do not like Nico's voice.

Would it be illegal to say my favorite punk record of all time is from Green Day?

Billie Joe, Mike, and Tre were shunned by the people they considered their friends after they released their breakout album Dookie under a major label, and they let out all their negative feelings into this where record. Insomniac is definitely Green Day's darkest, lyrically and sonically, incorporating more of a grungy punk rock sound rather than the polished pop punk of it's predecessor.
