Not a bad album, but the songs sorta sound the same, the writing is boring and the mix is rough at times.
I did think a few songs stood out, mainly the first and last ones, but overall this is just a fairly weak effort from the foos, especially after their last album was one of their best.
62/100
hell yeah!!!! I found tsubi club when laced up dropped and absolutely loved it, it became one of my favorite songs of that year.
But then I was like - why does he only have two songs and a cover? I need more!!!
Well, this is it and it's AWESOME! Production is an incredible high energy and fun hyperpop vibe with an indie sleaze edge to it, the songs flow perfectly into one another, the little folksy electro-acoustic thing going on was great and gave off a Nurture vibe, the commentary thing ... read more
Really enjoyable all throughout. The first 2/3 of this album is really great, most collabs working very well. The last third is sorta samesy but still decent. Produced incredibly as you would expect, with soulful vocals but lyrics that could leave a bit to be desired.
Still a good album and smooth listen.
Really fun album with good prod good flows and giid vibes. The bonus tracks go HARD
I'm a pretty big Danny fan, and a hyperpop fan, so when this album was announced and even before that I was really excited, and I gotta say this is a VERY good album but slightly underwhelming.
Lyrically this album is very introspective and uplifting, with Danny finally writing about positive feelings and getting better which is really awesome and I'm really happy for him. It's really refreshing to hear a happy Danny.
When this album is good, it's really really good. The ... read more
Absolutely insane album! So creative and fresh, it just sounds so unique but familiar. Lyrically dense with phenomenal vocals, this album might go up with more listens. Long island city here i come blew my mind, probably song of the year.
(edit) Yep with more listens this DID go up. Wow every track is just so dense and unique and well written this is just phenomenal stuff.
Holy shit ðŸ˜
I've been a fan for about 8 years or so.
I've grown farther from the band, but this album was like closing a chapter that has been open for a while.
Lyrically this album is great, on the lore level and personal level it just works. The sound is the most rock oriented they've ever been and it's incredible.
The callbacks, the vocals, it all made me feel like I'm a kid again.
Some songs feel a bit repetitive, but the ones that popped out, like city walls, ... read more
They keep getting better! I loved NO HANDS but this is even better. A mix of club bangers and introspective tracks, great features, funny one liners and relatable cuts, just a great album. Rating based on one listen, will probably go up.
(edit) I've listened to this album a lot since it came out. It gets better with listens the production is soooo good and this is just a really fun album.
(another edit) yep this album is incredible, and just makes me feel better no matter what.
Holy shit???
First listen and I don't feel like it's a 100 (yet) but omg the vocals are beautiful, the production is an unreal, the mix is perfect, the instrumentals and percussion specifically are insane, the lyrics are vulnerable on a high level and on their deeper meaning, just so fucking good.
This album is one of a kind, a mix of folk, pop, rap, post punk, bossa nova, jazz, what not, but it works perfectly.
AOTY
DAMNNNNNN ok so I'm a bit of a hyperpop freak and I love loud glitchy music and this did that insanely well. The production is absolutely unreal and pretty much flawless, it's soooo high energy, the danny brown feature is great, Jane's voice is awesome. Yeah this album is just insane. I need to listen to it more but this is even better than the new BCNR. PEAK!
Hell yeah! I'm a big bcnr fan, both FTFT and AFUT are heavily in rotation for me. Isaac left the band over three years ago during which they dropped bush hall, which was pretty great imo and I really like most of the songs on it, but it felt like a temporary fix.
This album shows the band pretty much dropping the post punk and post rock stuff completely and going in a much baroquier and folkier direction, pretty much taking those elements from bush hall and adding some more joy and magic. ... read more
Very strong posthumous album! Some tracks are weaker but the production is stunning the lyrics are dark and meaningful, the vocals are passionate, yeah this album is great.
Holy shittttt!!!!!
I'm still shook this drop was very unexpected but yes! new Kendrick album!!!
As one might expect from Kendrick, this album is great.
Kendricks lyricism is phenomenal, this album has a lot of the personal introspective themes we've seen in Mr morale and with that a lot of very fun tracks!
His flows are brilliant, as good as ever.
Instrumentally this album has Spanish influences alongside strings and trap??? Yes it's great.
Some tracks are weaker than others ... read more
Oh wow poppy just did that!
I've been following poppy's music for years and this shows how much she really progressed.
This is an incredible alt metal album, which honestly gave me what From Zero had too little of.
The production is awesome and yes it does sound kinda like BMTH in a lot of places but I like BMTH so that's a good thing imo.
Poppy's vocals are actually insane on this thing!!!! and overall this is just a really good fun energetic album, this might be her best ... read more
Okay so Linkin Park are back!
Back in middle school LP used to be one of my favorite bands, and I still love their work up to OML.
When this reunion was announced I was very skeptical, and The emptiness machine didn't quite buy me (it grew on me since).
So after singles that varied in style and quality, I didn't quite know what to expect.
So, how's the album? It's better than I expected for sure, Emily isn't Chester, but she doesn't need to be and she does well on ... read more
Wow, this is beautiful.
This new Mount Eerie album is a long, poetic ride, moving from slow minimalist songs to fast paced noise rock tracks, it's incredible, unique, and interesting.
Lyrically this album is absolutely phenomenal, introspective, metaphoric, and hit hard with every track.
The poetic lyrics with minimal melodies on top of acoustic slow instrumentals on some tracks feel like story time and keep you interested all throughout, even with the 12 minute Demolition.
The production ... read more
He did it again! Modern Tyler never disappoints, this album feels like a mix of everything he did in the past decade, with the hardcore raps of CMIYGL, the soft sweet tender synthy goodness of Igor, and a lot of the poppy catchy and beautiful style of Flower boy.
Lyrically this album might be his most personal yet, going into detail on his insecurities, thought on fatherhood, relationships, aging, lack of privacy, and other subjects. The clips from his mother were cool and made this album more ... read more
Really cool remix album! So for the most part this isn't a classic remix album, and for the most part it just sounds completely different and the songs are reimagined, with new different instrumentals, new lyrics, new vocals, and of course features on every track. So if you came in hoping to get brat (clubbier version) this is NOT that, this is more like brat's sister. I did enjoy this thoroughly, even if most tracks are not better than the original, they also sound nothing like the ... read more
