was reaaaaally hoping for this to sound a bit more darkwave like house, but still a pretty fun project
bit of a mixed bag imo. the opening track made me believe there'd be a bit more intrigue, but instead the album overall was a fairly clean cut record which i don't think is what i really wanted
im also kinda over interlude tracks that have nothing interesting to offer lol
faves: public domain, dying to forget, empty hands, if we're following the light
least faves: guardian, the wait, the interlude tracks
just kinda mediocre idk
faves: pale moonlight, bloodlust
least faves: crawl back to the my coffin, forgotten ghost
i think i'm learning that i'm really just not a fan of sabrina's perspective as an artist. like i get it men are soooo dumb and we have to applaud the bare minimum but also they're sooooo sexy. i would just love any sort of actual interesting commentary here if that's gonna be your whole schtick.
absolutely beautiful.
faves: willoughby's theme, nettles, tempest, waco texas
least fave: fuck me eyes
every single one of these tracks felt like an album closer and it led to a very fatiguing experience for me, in a way that i can't tell if it was a good or a bad thing
gonna have to give this another listen but i liked this waaay more than i thought i was going to based off the singles. the three track run of whats the point, dont be a stranger, and paws is brutal dude like i really think badflower's on the nose lyricism delivers strongly in those sorts of songs.
faves: no place like home, haunting you, whats the point, dont be a stranger, paws
least faves: london, detroit
this just didn't do it for me. absolutely nothing new or exciting, and nothing i'd find myself wanting to return to. it was just fine.
faves: sole, slowdive
least faves: dull, magic man
am i crazy or were the vocals on this thing for the most part fuzzy and way too low in the mix
outside of that, i appreciated some of the experimentalism on this record but maybe could have used a bit more. i really hate when the most interesting song on a record is the single. this is a huge improvement on her last record but not something i see myself revisiting much at all, if ever.
fave tracks: something beautiful, easy lover, every girl you've ever loved (if u cut out the outro)

what a batshit insane listen this was lmao. so cool
faves: full moon guidance, the demon of unreality limping like a dog, idiot temptation force, country song in reverse
least faves: body horror for birds
edit | ok wow this shit is unrelenting and has me in a vicious chokehold and also i love body horror for birds now so?? least favourite is actually probably distracted by the mona lisa but the whole fucking album is just incredible
wow lmao i didn't expect to like this but this fuckin sucked dude. some of the most unimaginative and lifeless music i have heard in a while
i really wanted something else out of this lol
faves: soft spine, black rainbow
least faves: deep end, crystal roses
pleasant enough but idk. this was missing a certain edge for me. the moments it felt like it might get there were almost more disappointing as a result, since they never fully committed. kind of on par for how i've felt about most of lucy's work as a whole, where a couple songs will stand out but the rest just washes over me.
faves: talk, forever is a feeling, most wanted man, lost time
least faves: limerence, modigliani, come out
was really hoping this would be more of the dark pop album i was expecting, but still happy with this overall - with the exception of how bad do u want me and die with a smile. die with a smile just doesnt belong on this record (and sounds more like a gaga feature on a bruno mars song?? idk), how bad do u want me sounds like a taylor swift song which is a hard negative for me
fave tracks: disease, abracadabra, perfect celebrity, the beast
least faves: zombieboy, how bad do u want me, die with ... read more
absolutely beautiful. there is so much room to breathe in this album as it just washes over you.
