I decided to jump and do my next Kikuo review out of order because GAAAH I LOVE THIS ALBUM IM DYING TO REVIEW IT!
The 95 I gave it isnt my usual average score that I do, but rather, I wanted to give it a rating from the heart. I truly believe this album is a work of art. Not perfect necessarily, but still a masterpiece -- and deserving of being one of my top four favorite albums EVER!
1. Twins at the Carousel - 9/10. This is probably my favorite album opener of Kikuo's yet, it's so subtle and ... read more
So candid it brought tears to my eyes the first time I listened to it. Pure art.
OH YEAAAH BABY YEAAAH I'VE BEEN WAITING EXCITEDLY FOR THIS ONE!!!
Before I go track-by-track, I just want to say that I really love the cover of this album + the cover of the Absolute Madness single, it looks really good!!
1. Liver - 8.5/10. Honestly when this first came out as a single I wasn't that into it, but it has grown on me IMMENSELY, especially the chorus! I think if you take the time to read along with the lyrics so you can have a clearer idea of some of the bars in the song it helps ... read more
Just a really enjoyable project!!! Hopefully I'll give it a full review someday soon, track by track, because I've been listening to this on repeat the last couple weeks. It's really fun and rich with a lot of different sounds, and has a humorous feel to it. I can only describe it as fun and energetic. The whole album comes together very harmoniously and has a great, strong sound, I really love it.
Taking a small break from my Kikuo spree for a palate cleanser! There are many songs by Pinocchio-P that I love but I've never listened to a full album!
1. God-ish - 10/10. This song is such a funky groove! As an artist I feel like I can relate to some of the cynicism of the lyrics. Personally I interpreted this song as the speaker being frustrated that their work keeps getting compared to others. I feel like this song also expresses themes of making art in an age of content that is mindlessly ... read more
A damn-near perfect Kikuo album, that's all I can say in summary!
1. Becoming Weightless - 8/10. Another strong opening from Kikuo, following in the trend of the last two being great. I always love the way he welcomes you into the atmosphere of the album.
2. Love Me, Love Me, Love Me - 10/10. Need anything be said about this absolute masterpiece? It's timeless, a modern Vocaloid classic. I've listened to it probably 100 million times and I'm always finding new things to love about it. Even ... read more
