Don't bother reading all of these reviews. The people down here are machines. Mindless robots.
it was interesting rating this because the last 5 songs absolutely clutched it.
I was intrigued by the dissonance, but a little over halfway started feeling like there were some songs better than others in dealing with the same concepts. but HOLY SHIT they went all out after Segue 3.
Though I could see many people like me bailing out before experiencing the culmination. And while I do appreciate this being a concept album, it could've gone with a few cuts/reordering.
A perfect culmination of their sound.
Feels so new, hearing them with modern production. Their sonic restraints are finally lifted, making the songs feel MASSIVE and ascending.
Been observing since day one. Self-aware, comedic, and most importantly, representing daily UK life without ego, just vibe. One love.
- Signed, local nitty.
- Pioneered lo-fi hip-hop
- Combined electronic and traditional instruments
- Mixed genres together
- Incredibly well produced
- Soulful and reflective guest lyrics
- Gave Samurai Champloo an unmistakable vibe

Dude made 3 bangers and then threw in whatever random stuff he had on his hard drive
This feels like a concept album about a love's life cycle. Starting in spring ("February"), the first half feels like a honeymoon phase and infatuation with someone. Nostalgic, happy melodies like The Cure. However, towards the end of the album and the end of the year ("September"), it becomes sadder, ending with my favorite song "Unique" with a darker, introspective sound. The band has leaned into that since then with their new (really good) singles.
The boys are back.
Probably their best release since the early 10s.
Love Jim's lead tone and heavy feedback, very atmospheric
I believe this band's strength is in its lead singer. His vocals are really good and fit the sound. However, while the secondary, more growly singer is good on backup vocals, him on his own makes the band sound muddy and growly, and it loses the charm "Wires" had placed on me. Unfortunately for me, half of the songs on this album are sung primarily (or entirely) by him.
Cold Showers are so underrated. Some of the best modern post-punk I've heard.
There is nothing like it, and likely won't be. A horror story in music form. Unsettling and feverish, yet a nightmare you must get through to see what's on the other side.
Questionable lyrics but you can't deny that the instrumentation is amazing.
Best mix of synthpop/indie rock. Played a big part in forming my music taste. Stöltz is a great voice, all instruments pop, life is good.
An album with some S-tier songs that touch on very existential topics, held down by an attempt to appeal to the mainstream, and a lot of filler songs to fill the space.
