One of the OGs. This is exactly what you’d expect from 100 Demons. The vocals are still kind of an acquired taste for me, but they’re definitely growing on me. The riffs are awesome of course and you can tell how many new bands have ripped this sound
I’m gonna need some more time on this one because after a few listens nothing is really sticking besides the title track. I loved Love Is Not Enough pretty much immediately, but this one I’m just kind of meh on. Converge are one of my favourite bands in the genre so I fully expected to love this, but I just don’t right now unfortunately
Really fun and super riffy crossover album. Not much more needs to be said. If you like metal and 90s hardcore then check this out
The best August Burns Red album since Rescue & Restore. I did love Guardians, but it wasn’t as tight and consistent as this record is. This is such a cohesive album, yet every song stands on its own and has a memorable moment that’s instantly recognizable and unique. (This is saying something since ABR have had a problem with being VERYYYY samey ever since R&R imo). They’ve always been good, but for a while they were kinda just pumping out standard run of the mill ABR ... read more
Their best song since Passenger. Those last 2 EPs were BORINGGGG so this is refreshing
Probably my favourite EP of the year. This shit is evil sounding in the best way. Nuts to butts, ass whooping metalcore
It’s good, but not great. Nothing to really write home about. It lacks a lot of the passion and authenticity that made With Thorns of Glass and Petals of Grief special imo
Update: this song fucks.
Woah. This is a weird one, I’m gonna need more listens. I liked it, but it’s VERRRYYY different for this band
Yep. Static Dress delivers again. I’m gonna need more listens to decide whether I like it more than Rouge Carpet Disaster, but it slaps nonetheless. …hospice is the one track I’m not really feeling, but who knows it’ll probably grow on me the same way lots of tracks on RCD did.
Vocals, riffs, drum fills, switch ups, electronics, mixing, production it’s all tight as hell. I love this band
Thanks @unsure for the rec, I was going to check this out anyways because I loved the singles. This was fantastic though. These young bands know exactly what they’re doing with this sound and even down to the rollout process. The vocals and riffs on here are the big standouts for me they’re all super catchy and fun. The electronics are also a very nice touch and they come through in the quieter more subdued moments of songs for some extra flair. Overall this was a super strong first ... read more
Great track. I was kind of expecting a Box Car Racer transition into the full band halfway through, but I’m kinda glad it didn’t go that direction. Also that main riff kinda sounds like Everlong at points
I’m not the biggest LMTF fan. They’ve always been kind of hit or miss for me. but this song rips
ChatGPT-core. Inoffensive, bland, soulless, devoid of any kind of emotion or originality. Just pandering to the Octane listeners and the Metalbirb viewers.
On initial listen it is good, fun and catchy, but it leans more into pop than punk most of the time unfortunately. I’ll need more listens though. It’s certainly WAYYYYY better than the vast majority of modern pop punk. I have a feeling it’ll end up growing on me just like the Koyo album did.
Not as strong as Whisper of a Dream imo, but still a fantastic song. This is probably my most anticipated album for 2026 now. Maybe with the exception of Boundaries
This is some fantastic old school metalcore. The atmosphere is killer, production and mixing are tight as hell, vocals are pissed, lyrics from what I could understand are great. Lots of awesome riffs, drum fills and bass lines on here too.
Hell yea this was awesome. Somewhat reminiscent of One Step Closer, Title Fight or Have Heart so if you’re into that style this is definitely worth checking out. The choruses are huge and the riffs are super fun, crunchy and catchy
