Update: it’s growing on me. 70->85
Maybe it’ll grow more on me, maybe I had my expectations set too high because I love “Would You Miss It?” So much. Either way I wanted more from this album. It’s not bad by any means. It’s actually very good, but Would You Miss It? is one of my favourite pop punk albums in ages and this doesn’t reach those heights sadly.
Also Irreversible being the lead single was already a weird choice, but upon hearing the ... read more
I love Balmora, but these last 2 singles aren’t hitting the same as their other stuff. They almost lack the passion of that first EP or something, I’m not sure. They’re still good though
This band can do no wrong for me personally (unless they switch up to Octanecore). Matt’s vocals are as unhinged as ever and the lyricism is once again top notch.
I’ve been a big fan of Amity for years (since Chasing Ghosts release) [cringe]. Through those years I’ve been mostly positive on their output despite mostly growing out of this style elsewhere. This is the first time where I really don’t like an album, but it’s because of one thing.. The singing on this album is truly awful. Everything else is pretty standard Amity and lots of the verses are really good, but the choruses suck all of the momentum out of the songs every ... read more
Man I love Koyo but these last 2 singles aren’t really doing anything for me and the lead single being the album closer just pisses me off despite it being a good song
I think this is a better album than Of Malice and the Magnum Heart. Sue me
One of my favourite artists of all time and an artist that I feel didn’t get their flowers. This is my personal favourite project from softheart, but you can’t go wrong starting with any of them imo. This thing oozes pain, heartbreak, melancholy, love and a bittersweet outlook.
There’s so much versatility in their discography with so many different styles. Almost all of it is self produced with some FANTASTIC production value nonetheless. Lyricism is consistently great, vibes ... read more
I listened to this 3-4 times because lots of my friends love this band and I’m… underwhelmed. Every time it ended I was left thinking “that was it..? Nothing happened??”
This is the type of metalcore/hardcore that makes me think maybe old people are onto something when they say “it’s just noise”
It’s really good, BUT.. and I’m not normally someone who complains about mixing/production, but in this case I think it actively harms the album. It’s very flat and big moments have much less punch than they should
95-> 75 I haven’t really come back to this very much and when I have it’s lost the magic for me
Anybody who knows me or who’s been following me for a while knows that this style of metalcore is… far from my favourite. But every once in a while there’s a band or album that comes along and blows my expectations out of the water. Before it was Heavener, now it’s A Love I Hope Will Haunt Me Forever. Is that blasphemous to even utter both names in the same ... read more
I haven’t liked Wage War since Deadweight but this was pretty sick I can’t lie. I was fully prepared to dunk on it, but it’s just fun. It’s not trying very hard to be anything other than fun which I can respect. Also that pig squeal was a pleasant surprise
