sleepy eepy music but pretty sad if you actually listen
I practically just described 90% of Indie Rock albums, but I mean it in a completely positive manner here. This is my first Alex G album, only having heard a couple of his songs in the past. Either way, I understand why a lot of people like his music after listening to this.
Honestly, I wasn't completely focused on the album (considering I was playing Balatro and had this in the background), yet I found a lot to appreciate. Alex ... read more
I saw 6:30 length on YouTube. I immediately knew it was gonna be good.
Production is signature JVB style, yet it sounds fresh and extremely clean. HYPERYOUTH is a banger, but LIVE RIGHT is life altering. Even if it's silly, mentions of growing up and maturing as a person being a common theme is not something I expected. Either way, it's a process we all have to face, and it hits even more when you're actively going through it. Genuinely an insane piece of art that blessed me ... read more
okay this one's pretty chill. don't have much to say but it's definitely enjoyable!
you missed a bit man
this is so clean, he's still got it in him. production and bars are nice, bit of a weak start but he gets into it once the song progresses. just drop an entire album like this bro it's your only hope
I cried to NTHHSFHBAWCC somewhere around 4 am this morning.
'Lonerism' is truly the epitome of what a Neo-Psychedelia record should be, hell, it perfectly encapsulates the entire emotion of loneliness itself. Even with 'She Just Won't Believe Me' being an interlude, there's no misses. 'Be Above It' is such a good intro, 'Why Won't They Talk to Me?' doubles in perfection at 2 am and 'Sun's Coming Up' is probably one of my ... read more
memes were funny until i actually bothered to listen to the entire thing. genuinely one of the most disturbing pieces of music i've listened to in recent day and i won't even rate it because i think this sort of thing can't be judged by another person besides himself. this doesn't excuse what he's done but it sure as hell gives some context and makes me feel extremely sad about where kanye is today.
58 minutes of pure bliss.
"VOLCANIC BIRD ENEMY AND THE VOICED CONCERN" is one of those albums that changes your life. I discovered this album back in July 2024 as I looked through the 'Dream Pop' tag here on AOTY. And I fell in love at first listen.
The questioning nature of "bird enemy car", the depressive lyrics in "styrofoam" or simply the instrumentals of songs like "beach harness" are a true look into what LUM is going through, and I mean ... read more
i see the appeal and i get why some people would really like this record but it's just not for me man i'm sorry
she dropped a song longer than 2 minutes it’s over for all you guys. this is my goat
i bet the person who sprayed that must be pissed off that he used it to make peak
Although I don't have much to add on and or say about this album, I went in completely blind and I'm glad to say that I was enjoying it the entire time. I've never been much of a Skrillex fan, but this was certainly a refreshing journey that I hadn't experienced before. Such an insane blend of genres that I didn't even know was possible, and I didn't even feel the 46 minutes go by ... read more
This is genuinely one of the most calming pieces of music I’ve heard in a minute. I love this side of Quad that he showed off in Scrapyard, and he clearly isn’t done. Thank you, my ears are blessed.
…holy peak?
genuinely have no words this is just one of my favorite songs right now
