Hayley Williams - Ego Death At A Bachelorette Party
88

Heartbreaking, passionate and personal. This album feels like being creative out of pure spite. A breath of fresh air created from a feeling of staleness, Hayley always finds new ways to push a genre while still keeping it real and fundamentally simple.

Highlights: Ice in my OJ, Love me different, Negative self talk, True believer, Parachute
Lowlights: Dream girl in Shibuya

The Beach Boys - Pet Sounds
95

Pet sounds is the definition of a classic. This album has some very impressive harmonies, vocal and instrumental all around. There comes with it a feeling of nostalgia and longing for simplicity that fits in perfectly with its upbeat, colorful production and simple, elegant & beautiful songwriting. I do feel like this album is often overrated, but that does not mean it isn't amazing. The sound quality definitely stood out to me the most, subtly brilliant and creative little bits ... read more

Metallica - St. Anger
63

While St. Anger has its problems, it's not as terrible as reviews make it seem. Yes, the songs are unnecessarily long for, seemingly no reason and because of its complete absence of guitar solos, this album at times feels like a chore to get through. But some of its other "flaws" like the pot snare and high tech, sludgy guitars, I find are genuinely interesting elements that add to the experience. St. Anger is about living with mental disability, addiction and anger problems in ... read more

100 gecs - 1000 gecs
68

I didn't know sounds could do this to my ears. There is no apparent logic behind the musical choices on this album, yet somehow, it produces some of the hardest EDM tracks I've ever heard. 100 gecs doesn't care about music norms, they throw all the sounds they've got on the table then proceed to make the most paradoxically amazing songs that would set low end computers on fire. While I do find some of the songs on this album annoying and nothing else, it is very much ... read more

Black Eyed Peas - Monkey Business
55

Listening for the hits is not advised. Going in I expected fast paced but lengthy and groovy tracks, like "Pump It". What I got instead was songs that were decently catchy, but so slow paced and long that I found myself annoyed and bored. Barely anything stood out to me on this album, I wasn't able to appreciate the genuinely unique and interesting production because it was dragged on to death, along with many of the vocal ideas. At some point, it becomes apparent that the Black ... read more

The rawest, truest depiction of nihilism, depression and hopelessness in music. The album traps you in an endless darkness, before dragging you through sludge and roughness, picking you up every once and a while for short gasps off air, before quickly slamming back into the same, grim reality, until all the fleeting hope that the first track might've given you is drawn out of your body. The production on this album mercilessly engulfs you in the inner workings of a brain that has lost all ... read more

Tame Impala - Deadbeat
58

There are lots of things I expect when picking up a Tame Impala, but listening to "Deadbeat", I was pleasantly surprised. Kevin doesn't really change his sound too much on this album, but what he does do is make things much more personal and creatively-driven. He gets vulnerable about his introversion, fears and personal life, while delivering some of the most dance oriented tracks of his career. What I find the result of this however is drawn out, forgettable tracks, that really ... read more

Yuno Miles - ALBUM

Relentlessly horrible. I really appreciated that 50-second silence on "pushups". Thank you yuno miles.

Highlights: N/A
Lowlights: The rest of the tracklist

Ciśnienie - [angry noises]
89

Raw, beautifully rough avant-garde jazz. A quartet pushed to its limits, this album is powerful and loud all throughout, a true depiction of human rage. One thing that stood out to me was how comprehensible this album was for prog-rock, its been mixed in a way where the sounds are actually quite digestible in the moment, while still being off-putting. One of the most impressive live albums ever recorded.

Sabrina Carpenter - Short n' Sweet (Deluxe)
72

Groovy, fun, playful and unafraid. Carefree's in the name when in comes to modern pop and Sabrina fully embraces that on this album. Witfully and savagely ripping apart past lovers on soft acoustic melodies, blended with catchy, feel good beats, this album is a fun time, even if at some points, the creativity seems to take a backseat to cliche, heartbroken love song lyrics.

Highlights: Bed Chem, Juno, 15 minutes
Lowlights: Espresso

Vince Staples - Big Fish Theory
87

Creative and decorated production accompanied by excellent & punctual rapping. Synth and bass heavy tracks all throughout the album it stand out from others. Though I find some of the production choices odd and unfinished, I appreciate the majority of this albums stand out, futuristic sound.

Highlights: Big fish, Rain Come Down, 745
Lowlights: Samo, Love can be...

Arctic Monkeys - AM
70

Catchy, groovy basslines and hooks; I appreciate the punchy, bitter, mellow feel that surrounds this album.
One of the most iconic albums of the 2010s, however at some points, the album feels like it melts together too much, which I find makes it a bit forgettable and dull after relistens, the hits hit hard, while the rest fall flat and overshadowed.

Highlights: Arabella, Why'd you only ever call me when you're high?, I wanna be yours
Lowlights: Do I Wanna Know?

Tyler, The Creator - IGOR
100

All throughout pure creative production, vocals, mixing and textures. A joy to listen to every time I pick it up. Depicts the energy of a desperate lover perfectly, from soft piano and static, to shifty percussion, to gritty, rough bass & synths.

Highlights: I THINK, RUNNING OUT OF TIME, NEW MAGIC WAND, ARE WE STILL FRIENDS?
Lowlights: N/A

Kanye West - Graduation
90

Consistent, replayable and iconic album, full of hits and anthems. Amazing production.

Highlights: Flashlights, Stronger, Can't tell me nothing
Lowlights: Drunk & hot girls
