This album is so well produced I started floating real. This album pulls off an unfathomable array of concepts and ideas in such a short amount of time, from desolate landscapes, to the disparity of the dystopia that is the real world, to a fantasy land of fairy tales, Demon Days is playful with grandeur in simplicity. There is so much depth and sadness packed into this record that is easily overlooked on a first listen, but run it back a few times, Demon days is hiding creativity and ... read more
While this project lacks cohesiveness that it most definitely should have more of, its charm is its greatest strength that brings it above this flaw. I love the way the idea of EDM is treated on this record. Like the title suggests, it chooses to build worlds or a story (or at least it tries it's best), while the idea of a story isn't as well fleshed out as I would've hoped, I think it still hits the emotional beats it needs to. Highlighting the softer side of electronic music is ... read more
I don't think I've ever fallen in love with a project quite like Rumors. Soft rock has never gone so hard. Nicks's singing could genuinely put you into a trance and his harmonies with McVie and Buckingham are in my opinion, what brings this album to life. The instrumentals, while at times, disappointingly simple are iconic and catchy, which is in my opinion the main draw of the whole album, as the songwriting, while solid, is generic. I don't say all this to put Rumors down, ... read more
I'm a big fan of what Ives does on this project, sonically and writing-wise. The choppy sound really stood out to me, as she somehow cuts up the melody to, paradoxically create a flow. This project sounds like the concept of bedroom pop, particularly because of the singing, dreamy, but weighted and emotional. Lots of really original tracks, varying in quality but all together very solid. In the end, I feel like this album needed some more time to cook. The cohesiveness falls a bit short to ... read more
Overrated? Of course, but that doesn't change that Thriller is the most iconic album of all time. Funky, groovy, fantastic singing, Thriller is amazing in every aspect a pop record needs to be. When it comes to songwriting, Jackson knew the recipe to becoming iconic and flew away with it. Powerful, engaging and heavy with funk.
Highlights: Wanna Be Startin' Somethin', The Girl is Mine Thriller, Beat it, Billie Jean, P.Y.T (Pretty Young Thing)

Great songwriting, but what else does this project offer? Other than it's solid features, this album feels a little flat sonically. It's not bad per say, just basic and repetitive. It's frustrating, how genuine and heartfelt the songwriting is, just to be wasted on generic RnB beat after generic RnB beat. Daniel shows a lot of potential as a songwriter and singer and it is clear he knows how to manage those specific elements of a song, but he struggles to find his own sound to ... read more
Melophobia is a mixed bag for me. While I will say they have a variety of ideas spread across this album, some of them just end up being either uninteresting, or flat out annoying. I appreciate the wide array of sounds presented, but sometimes I seriously question if the contrasting musical approach was intentional. This project is in a strange limbo in the stereotypical ideas of "indie" music, throwing so many ideas all at once, which really muddles the sound for me. Now onto the ... read more
It can't be overstated how stunningly impressive this album really is. Bringing this kind of energy into mainstream used to be a rarity and when it came to Led Zeppelin, they really stole the show during the final hour of the 60s. Fantastic blues rock and hard rock that holds up even today, fused flawlessly with folk and psychedelic elements. The fact that all members of the band are essentially soloists shines bright on this project. The drumming is pinpoint accurate yet wild and ... read more
Some of the most compelling storytelling in media. The more you invest and dig into GKMC, the more you get out of the brutal reality faced in the streets; while also providing perspective of faith and staying true to one self. Production, rapping, features, all phenomenal. Its hard to put into words how stunningly creative, expressive and ground-breaking some of these songs are. Precise, incredible rapping from Kendrick and some of the most memorable and iconic sampling of all time. The deluxe ... read more
Following projects like Clancy and Trench, I was hoping for more when it came to the quality of this album sonically. That being said, Breach doesn't sacrifice the spectacle. As a closer to the Clancy/torchbearer saga, Breach was gripping, tragic yet hopeful and I personally am all for it. When it comes to riding hype, Breach was everything I could've asked for and more.

If you smoke weed, this album is a must hear. Filled with bizarre, yet eye-poppingly gorgeous and innovative production, this project is nothing short of a masterpiece. The blues inspiration definitely was a highlight for me. Masterpieces however, can be flawed and the Beatles are far from flawless people. A good example of this is Track 4, "Getting better". I feel like John makes abuse too much of a throwaway concept, which was very off-putting. Other than that, some of the ... read more
As addicting as it is vulnerable and honest. Charli perfectly balances club adrenaline and living a free, party driven life, with soft spoken ballads on BRAT, while keeping that high-energy hype for the whole ride. This album is the definition of true confidence. Relatable, personal, Charli keeps it real while also not giving a damn about how you feel about her.

Tragically poetic; blonde is one of those albums that was destined to age well. I have never heard something so soulful, beautiful and emotional as what Frank ocean managed to do on this project. Another thing of note is the hidden yet unbelievably stacked feature list. The Beatles, Andre, Kendrick, Tyler, Beyoncé, Stevie wonder that only scratches the surface of the countless amazing minds who put this album together. Frank Ocean's singing is phenomenal and beautiful all throughout ... read more
Hopeful and uplifting even in the face of certain death. This album is wonderfully composed and strung together, exciting and fun, dramatic almost everything great about emo, packed into one record. One anthem after another, this album is as iconic as it is brilliant.

"Parachutes", in my opinion, did not offer too much that stuck with me. That doesn't take away from the fact that this album is emotional has some beautiful acoustics and overall amazing sound. I think the biggest complaint I have is originality, but even that is a weak claim against this album, as it is clear Coldplay knows what they want to sound like and are able to pull it off very convincingly. Not the most creatively impressive, but still very solid album.

I'm into the boldness and wittiness of this project, but I feel like the same tone gets dragged on with no real new ideas after a while. The first half seems to be where all the meat of the album is and then from there, I find the rest more forgettable with only a few standouts. That being said, Sabrina does not miss with the hits and boy there are a lot; so overall, solid project, but could use more of that flare and originality I expect from Sabrina on some of those slower songs. That dreamy quality is always what brings me back to this album, whether that be the satisfying, heavy and distorted guitars or the echoing vocals that surround you and fill you up with intrigue and hope. This definitely is not a creative, experimental masterpiece, but it is still exciting and a favorite of mine when it comes to Britpop.

Elegance, playfulness and curiosity in adventure. Taking this album at face value, it is very sonically entertaining and creative. Every song is soulfully constructed and give us each a unique piece of a magical world. Gorillaz ability to do storytelling, painting an idea, society or character through lyricism once again shines all throughout the album, especially on songs like "The happy dictator", "The moon cave" & "The Sad God". Indian and Latin influences ... read more
Pure adrenaline, some of the best dance-pop I've ever heard, unapologetically loud, literally reinventing EDM sound. No punches are held and it shows, songs like "CRANK" & "YES GODDD" will leave you seeing stars. I will say the energy feels a little lower during the second half, but it does not lose its touch for a second.
Highlights: DANCE...; CRANK, YES GODDD

There are a lot of things you can say about sleep token merging genres, but I don't think its much of a controversial opinion they failed (mostly). I do see the vision in songs like "Emergence", "Caramel" and "infinite baths", but other than those three, for me, this album struggles to have a unique sound that is actually something interesting and fun to listen to. Metal and pop isn't a combination I'm against per say, it just ends up sounding ... read more
