Mitski - Bury Me at Makeout Creek
99

Mitski is at her best dealing with emotion, and Bury Me at Makeout Creek proves to be her most emotional work. Each track is strong, with some of the best songs at her career landing on this album. Her words of love, loss, and quiet resignation strikes a chord with me. Even if it wasn't emotionally resonant, the beatiful musicality of the album is awe inspiring.

Wu-Tang Clan - Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers)
100

36 Chambers is lightning in a bottle. Not a single thing is out of place and each Wu member is in top form. The album treats the Wu-Tang Clan's success and longevity as an eventuality and not a question, and they were right to do so. Enter the Wu-Tang is the finest group effort in hip hop, one that likely can't be replicated or surpassed.

Lauryn Hill - The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill
100

Miseducation is the best genre fusion album, perfectly meshing hip hop and r&b. Hill's hypercompetency in both genres makes their synergy seem natural. The album's musings on love are heartfelt and meaningful, and Hill shines as both a writer and vocalist.

Madvillain - Madvillainy
100

Madvillainy sees unquestionably the best rapper-producer combo in history. Both DOOM and Madlib are in top form, producing one of the greatest albums ever made. While it's short, eclectic nature can be jarring, each track is incredibly strong due to the sharp lyricism and memorable instrumentals. Joined together, they create the one of the strongest hip hop efforts to date.

Nas - Illmatic
100

Easily the best debut in hip hop history. It marked a sort of paradigm shift in the genre, and acted as a blueprint and benchmark for a long time afterwards. Truly a generational album. There's no wonder as to why it's widely regarded as the best album in the genre even to this day.
