I already loved the original. But this just undeniably sounds much better. By comparison, most would say that Car Seat Headrest's remake of Twin Fantasy is much better than original, ultra lo-fi cut. And although I agree for the most part, I still see the appeal in the original, and might occasionally choose to listen to it instead.

Banshee beat is my favourite song of all time. It is truly special, and, for me, it's enough for this album to be a 10/10, but I also like the rest of the album quite a lot.
There is an hyper-kinetic energy to many of the tracks (It's Working, Song for Dan Treacy, Brian Eno), which might sound a bit silly to some but they hit just right for me. And the more patient, psychedelic tracks are also excellent.
One day Pavement decided they would just go ahead and invent Indie Rock; they did such a good job of it that arguably no one has surpassed them since.
Ben Gibbard is the most earnest man alive.
And the production is wonderful.
