What in the actual fuck did i just experienced.
Im writing this exactly as i finished my first listen, and what in the.....
Everything just went out of my head, every single worry, every regret and every complacency that i have about myself.
I did not expect that one bit, mannn that ergg, i dont even know what to write. There so many stuff i loved about this album, the transitions, the god damn cold chilling sound, every fucking thing about it.
I am ridiculously tired right now, and i might ... read more
It does have a very unique sound, the way that i can explain it perfectly is that, it feels like a very dark and haunting summer.
Though i dont really feel that strong about this project, it has some amazing songs with intresting narratives like "Stella was a driver and she's always down", wich is my favourite. And also other intresting songs that stick out clearly like "Obstacle 1" and "Untitled", but i dont think this album is that consistent with its ... read more
It's so god damn addicting.
With every listen my emotional connection with this album grows more and more. And it's so weird to explain it, i really don't have any words to put on how this sound makes me feel.
It's soo amazingly consistent and comforting, i see myself coming back to this a lot.
You can see in this album, how Julian slowly is finding his other profound sound that he has developed with the voidz, but still with his old strokey way.
In a way its more of a personal review, rather than objective. But i can't help myself not to be hit with nostalgia from this project from the trip i took a few years ago in Viena and how this album has been living in that city ever since.
I have a difficult and very special relationship with Radiohead, it's hard to explain, but this album feels like geting head so yeah 👍
this is exactly what im looking for, when listening to these small indie artists. this record is a small hidden gem and i really enjoyed it.
This album really proves why Julian Casablancas, is the best rock star of this century.
Its so rare for an artist to completely change his sound and keep the same quality that people remember him for. This album is so damn catchy and weird in a very cool way, after you listen it you cant help yourself to not have 3-4 tracks stuck in your head.
I do find it difficult to rate an album that has sat with me sucha long time, but i'll try.
Honestly the music in it speaks for it self, it's a damn perfect album and it doesn't stop surprising you with cool and creative elements. The second half does have more complete songs for me and its the ones that pop up in my head as i write this, but there is so many highlights throughout the whole album. Its soo ridiculously consistent, and its absolutely perfect for what you can ... read more
The arctic monkeys are for me just The Strokes from Britain, and though i did expect to like their sophomore album more than Room On Fire, from more of the highlights and more ambitious ideas that i remember, but the only thought i get while listening to it is: "damn this album has so much potential", but unfortunately i cant say it lives up to it.
If it had the same quality as their debut, damn...
This album would've been more than perfect.
I don't think its a bad album, ... read more
Its honestly weird to me how some people think, that Room On Fire is better than Is This It, though i do still love this record.
My only kind of criticism is the repetitions in the middle tracks, even if im in love with this kind of early Strokes sound, and i cant really see myself geting tired of it, there is some songs that are very forgettable.
I think the only songs that have an "Is This It" quality are the first two songs and the last two. Even more than that i think the ... read more
The emotional connection i have with this album is stronger than the one i have with my father
my ears does hurt, but this album has some bangers and its quite fun
pretty damn boring.
I like the song "Better than I Know Myself" and i decided to give it a listen, but damn..
I expected so muchh more from this, there's like 1-2 songs that i actually somewhat like the rest is just a hard skip.
The chaotic comfort that this album gives, really does make you want to shed every piece of your body
Its strange, but this album is perfect for cleaning your room in the morning. Cant explain it...
I cant really express enough how much i love LCD Soundsystem and this album in particular.
It has given me hope and dance while i have been on my lowest, made me cheering and loving when i want to spit on everything that i see in front of me.
This album so god damn smart and clever in so many ways. Makes you wanna move crazy while your outside forgetting that embarrassment even exists and just vibe with whatever is around you, remembering how fun music actually can be.
I do love an album that knows how to keep your attention with elements that hook ya and don't let ya
Production wise there some highlights in the album songs like Sick, Skin etc, but lyrics and vocals are average at best, this genre: "sad boy music", repeating: "my drain gang" and " im a missing person" throughout the whole album makes it very cheap and lazy, without any emotions put in it whatsoever.
Tho there is songs that have interesting musical elements, but in general it fails to get an once of my attention throughout the whole experience.
