Enchanting soundtrack that leaves an impression long after completing the game. This soundtrack establishes a lot of the themes, leitmotifs and melodic style later expanded on in Automata, whilst still being worthy of recognition in its own right. Inishie no Uta being played at the 2020 Olympics is evidence enough of the cultural impact and exceptionality that this ost carries. One of my absolute favourites.
someone wise once said that even mountain goats sometimes fall off their mountain, and unfortunately my goat missed the mark with this 31 track album of zzzzzzzzzzz. There are 2 or 3 decent songs, but I definitely think Taylor should have gone for quality over quantity.
One of the best soundtracks of all time. Few video game soundtracks will be remembered as spectacles, but NieR:Automata's ost achieves this and more - standing as an ambitious work of art worthy of praise in its own right. Asian Kung Fu Generation's music always gives me nostalgia for a time I never experienced, with tracks such as Re:Re, Loop & Loop and Rewrite not only being among the best J-Rock songs, but best rock songs of the 2000's. There are some slower songs on this album as well, but overall the highs absolutely justify a listen.
