Sigur Rós' untitled effort is one that continues the same beautiful, atmospheric sound of its predecessor, while also managing to be its own thing. Unlike its predecessor, however, () often reaches dramatic climaxes and very large conclusions in a lot of these songs, while never sacrificing any of its natural beauty and peacefulness. Instrumentally, this thing is another beauty from Sigur Rós, and vocally this entire record is sung at a much lower pitch than Ágætis byrjun, helping it to feel unique in its atmosphere and tone. While this is likely one that'll need to sit with me a bit longer before I truly grow to adore it, I will still say off a first listen that this is quite a great record, and one that should be experienced at least once.
