Revisiting Ichiko Aoba's Discography: Part Four (70->87)
This woman is just incapable of putting out anything that's not amazing, huh? Yeah, so 0 was by far the Ichiko record that I was the most excited to revisit and, as expected, it clicked. This record is easily her most ambitious with the exception of one much later on, using a lot of field recordings as well as some double layered vocals and what sounds like a live recording of one of her songs making this her "experimental album", if you will. Interestingly, for an album with this many field recordings in it, this feels like one of Ichiko's most intimate releases to me. So yes, while this is an amazing album in my opinion and I can easily see why this would be someone's favorite from her, I do have to sadly admit that this record is my least favorite of the binge so far. With that being said, however, I can only see this growing on me, and I'm going to give it a few more listens and adjust my rating accordingly! Also, いきのこり●ぼくら is a top 3 song from her in my opinion, and I love to listen to it while taking walks. That wouldn't have fit anywhere else in the review I just wanted to mention that I like that one haha
