They really called one of their most chill albums up to that point “Exciter” that’s fucking hilarious

I didn’t realize they went all moody and shit this quickly. I was expecting this to be “Speak and Spell 2” but no. Unfortunately, while I do like the more dark vibe to this, it seems like they hadn’t really found out how to make it interesting yet.

I didn’t think I was gonna like this album, but despite it being a little all over the place at times, it is decently enjoyable with a couple great tracks

This album has grown on me so much since I first listened. This type of sound is just made for me, it fulfills both my metal and synthy needs at the same time (and it also goes hard as fuck)

CUM METAL

As much as I like their more recent work, it's a shame they lost this industrial vibe. Songs like Despised go absolutely nutty and they really don't have anything else in their discography with that amount of intensity.

The whiny, nasally vocals bother me on this, which sucks cause they weren't there on the last album. They don't completely ruin the album, and the instrumentation is really good, but it just keeps it from being great in my opinion.

Granted I did listen to this at 5am, but I honestly don't think that contributed to me being nearly put to sleep by this EP, it was so boring.

I've wanted to write an actual review of this for a while because holy shit. This album is a lot for me. I've listened to this album a lot, and I don't know if that's a good or bad thing. I don't know if this album has helped me or if it's made me worse, but I like to think it's helped cause if not, uh oh. I do tend to find depressing albums comforting though, which speaking of depressing, oh my god.

HOLY PEAK THIS IS LITERALLY EXACTLY WHAT I WANTED FROM THEM. THIS IS LIKE IF HESITATION MARKS WAS MORE GRITTY AND ENERGETIC. I LOVE TECHNO NINE INCH NAILS

This album (and also Amnesiac, but in a slightly different way) evoke a feeling I've never heard in any other music I've listened to, and I just cannot describe it. You kinda just have to know what I'm talking about. It feels so cold but with that small bit of warmth. So artificial but with that slight bit of humanity.
