I don't know if it's because I'm overly patriotic after yesterday's win at the 4 nations, but Tate's music has never sounded this good ever. Maybe she actually just dropped an enjoyable album for once.
As a grown man who has worked very hard on himself over the past few years, I can admit when I’m wrong. Almost a year after the initial release of this record, I can confidently say that I was sooo wrong not only when it came to The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess, but on Chappell Roan in general. I have been thinking about this review and how wrong I was for months, and I think it's time I correct my wrongs.

Finneas' production on this probably is the best I've heard all year. They're experimenting with new ideas on here and it actually works. Every song has its own unique idea and I'm all here for it. Take THE GREATEST and L'AMOUR DE MA VIE. Back to back songs that see Billie's voice go into completely different directions. On the first one, we can hear how powerful she can push a note, and on the second, there goes the Daft Punk autotune.
I liked her previous releases, but I didn't expect to ... read more
I think it's fair to say there isn't really a weak point anywhere between these 10 tracks. The lyrics can be very much critical of our society and the ones that preceded ours, and yet be delivered in such a calming and reassuring way. Classical is definitely a top 10 song on the year for me, but the rest of the record would also be worth it.
I hate that this sounds so good because every time I want to listen to it I remember how easily I cry. Adrianne is on another level, this sounds amazing. I knew her from her Big Thief bangers but I didn't know she was doing it like that all by herself.
Whether you like it or not, we'll remember this record for a long time as an important turning point in modern Hip-Hop's history. Like That does overshadow some amazing tracks, but it is the start of the biggest feud in the music world in a while. I personally think that this is the best collab album in a minute (and yes, OBVIOUSLY better than Her Loss).
Yeah, this may be repetitive and very safe. But there's a touch that makes this Afrobeats record stand out from other releases of that same genre. It might be Tyla herself actually since I love her voice, it's not overpowering but rather very sweet. Truth or Dare is a banger, and Water absolutely did not need a Travis Scott feature to be enjoyable.
Blue Lips was the first Hip Hop release on the year that I really enjoyed. Great comeback record by ScHoolboy Q, worth every minute we had to wait for it.
IM A BIG DAWG I DO BIG DAWG SHIT!¡!
Is it just me or he tries to sound like every possible rapper that had some kind of success in the past like 10 years? The beats, the flows, the lyricism, the production, everything about this record sounds like it’s a copy and paste. I’m hearing X, 6ix9ine, Lil Pump, Scarlxrd, Ski Mask, Jaden, Dax, Pop Smoke on this record and yet none of these guys are actually listed on the tracklist.

This is the first I've heard of Future Islands (apart from singles released last year) and I do like the Synth-heavy inspired beats. Musically, this record has some really strong moments. That being said, I do have an issue with a part of this record.
There isn't a lot of instances where the actual voice of a artist affects the way I hear music. If the vocals don't please me, it will usually be because of the production/mixing. In Future Islands' case, Samuel T. Herring's voice truly is ... read more
I haven't heard every album she's ever released, but this is my least favorite of the ones I've actually heard for sure. Litterally 22 of the 30 sentences she sings on Lifetime are ''In a lifetime''. That's over 70% of the time. I also had higher expectations for the Lil Yachty feature, we know he can adapt to a lot of different genres since last year's Let's Start Here, and while the overall vibe of the trak is alright, the end result is kinda snoozer.
That being said, the title track is a ... read more

If I'm being honest, I wasn't a huge fan of the tracks when they were released separately prior to the release of this mixtape. In an album context, I'd say they sound better. I like his 2022 release better, but the bar was very high. I'm just glad we got some Quadeca music to begin the year.
Big shoutout to Texas Blue though, fantastic song.
I love MGMT man. They always come up with something new, something otherworldly. It's hard to live up to the expectations that they set up for themselves, but this thing definitely fulfilled the hopes I had.
I already disliked Kim Petras before Slut Pop Miami and this confirms that I absolutely hate her music. This has to be some of the worst music I've ever heard. This EP single handedly puts feminism back 20 years.
I'm sorry but Ty's carrying this record. Any part of this album that are actually good are his, even the features aren't that great. Ye is at an all time low on this one.
Bending Hectic might genuinely be one of my favorite track in Thom and Johnny's entire discography. Is this record up to par with some of the most successful Radiohead records? Nah, I don't think so, but I'm just glad we get some good music 30 years into their career.
