my new album of the year. genuinely unbelievable stuff. making a metal album somehow be beautiful is one thing, making it one of the best albums of the year is another.

vocals and lyrics can be pretty bad at times but instrumentals are good and once you really get it you get it

weird and wacky for the worse yet still interesting enough to be listenable

knocked loose but worse
every song felt like an attempt to take a heavy, hard-hitting track and then format it in the same ways modern pop does. the result? repetitive blandness. nothing here was great, but at the same time, nothing here was too bad, either. the drumming is fantastic, and the vocal performance here is top-notch. kind of hard to believe someone has such a wide range of intensity. the guitars occasionally added something interesting into the mix, but the vocals and drums ... read more

i don’t know if i’ll find another album as pleasant as this. so easy to listen to and really enjoyable, while also provided a gorgeous sound most albums can only dream of. a very nice, pretty tracklist was given to us here, though i do have one complaint. i want to hear more instrumentals. i feel like the tracks that took advantage of the instrumentals really elevated the pretty sound the album already has, and i felt like they were in general more engaging. it ... read more

its… alright. really not that interesting, or frankly all that good, but it isnt that bad either. instrumentals have their moments when they shine, and there are instances where the lyrics are interesting. most of the time, though, its just really, really boring, and not that fun to listen to. its still okay.

who is watching and why
it had a nice, pretty, upbeat sound elevating the mood as we take a trip through his conflicted feelings. its easy on the ears, i found it simple to understand, and the vocals are great. its also really boring! like, really really boring. each song was kind of just the same, with a few exceptions. i was kinda just hoping the whole sound would change suddenly, but alas it never did. albeit, i can still say that this has a decent tracklist with a couple notable songs worth ... read more

to be honest, not a lot to talk about. it’s just a nice, pretty sound, though very slow moving. nothing impressive and nothing egregiously bad. it’s okay. what else am i supposed to say?

damn…
what a raw, emotional album. a journey through struggles and finding what you love, only for that love to be stripped away. a great listen, with guitars that work well and nice vocals, with some screaming put in there to add to the emotional depth. this is a good listen, but i have to say, that second song man… completely tanked the rating. could’ve been in the 80s but here we are. still, great listen.

albeit a step back from Pornography, this one still has a bit of charm to it. (that’s a brand new sentence…) however, The Top is not without its flaws. none of these tracks really reach out to me. the first couple of songs shined the brightest, but each one is maybe a 7/10 at best. still better than their earlier work, and the messaging is as cut-throat as it gets. i just didn’t feel attracted to this album, and i think this one deserved to have a little more love put ... read more

the tracklist that Soundgarden gave us here is great— heavy riffs from the guitars, a bass that has found it’s groove, and kick-ass drums to go along with it. oh, and did i not mention the vocals yet? stunning, stellar, every positive word you can think of describes the vocal performance on this album. absolutely wonderful stuff, and that’s what i think carried the sound throughout the listen. but… with what greatness this tracklist has, ... read more

if christian rock was good
its giving me retro yet modern vibes, somehow, but i think it turned out really well. the mixing is great, drums were awesome, and the guitars carried the sound throughout the album, offering a quick-paced plucky style of playing. all aspects of the tracks work well, and all in all this was a very enjoyable listen, it’s just nothing completely blew me away. maybe i’ll explore other projects from this guy…

vocalist sounds like he’s teaching a two year old their abc’s everything else is fine.

so emotional, so raw, yet so beautiful. it’s a wonderful masterpiece displaying The Weeknd at his most vulnerable. after 22 tracks, i want more.

franz ferdinand ha delivered a sort of jazzy album with many catchy tunes and rhythms. the guitars and the drumming here are great, and the meaning and depth of the lyrics too adds to these tracks. the vocals are good for the most part, just not up to par with the other elements of these songs. the tracks are very easy to listen to and they get you moving quick. my one complain, and it's a big one, is the songwriting. there are several segments on this tracklist ... read more
