Off the heels of his two previous albums, “Jumping the Shark” and “Forced Witness”, Alex Cameron, at this point known for writing his music in character as some of the most unpleasant men ever to live, decides to finally pull back the curtain and give us a more personal record. It’s a break in formula, and to some it might have ruined the charm of his songwriting style. Not me though lol.

Throughout his life, Prince could not be stopped from making music. Dude made over 40 records in less than 40 years, many of them indulgent and overlong. To the person who recommended me this album, I’m sorry. I did not care for this at all. Maybe I wasn’t in the right headspace for it, maybe it’s just because I don’t dance, but this record did absolutely nothing for me.
I won’t spend too long talking about it. I listened to this album once all the way through, then went over some select tracks later, and I remember exactly nothing. I don’t ... read more

Ah shit this fucking record. I like The Gold Experience, I like it quite a bit, but god can this album be frustrating sometimes. Fun fact, when I first listened to this LP a few years back, The Most Beautiful Girl in the World was not available in my region, likely still because of O(+> being found guilty of plagiarism over it. On a relisten with the track reinstated, uh, I wish it hadn’t been lmao.
