Jackboys hardly feels like an actual collective, so I suppose it makes sense that this album sounds like a bunch of random shit slapped together. Not at all cohesive, occasionally very irritating, and overwhelmingly dull. It's a Jackboys classic!
Revisiting this was the right move. I "liked" it on release but I certainly did not appreciate it enough. This thing fuckin rocks.
Donald Glover walks his Childish Gambino persona into the sunset with a wild and slightly disjointed album, which is pretty par for the course with most Gambino releases. Bando Stone however, has a fairly consistent summer theme, and several tracks on here like "No Excuses" and "Happy Survival" are just pure late night beach vibes.
