JPEGMAFIA is a clown. Calling himself the best experimental rap artist while Danny Brown exist. He then proceeds to drop this mid ass album. It's more like a 60 for me, but his statements to hype this project up and the fact he still complains about white people like they aren't 80% of his fan base drops my rating down.
Yanqui U.X.O is possibly one of GY!BE's best and most underrated works. The album being one of their most unique sounding projects with its the overall vibe and structure. With it also taking in a really dark sound which its subject matter being about anti-American imperialism only adding onto it, and the context of the time period it was released. Yanqui U.X.O is a project that aged like fine wine.
Went in ready to be disappointed, came out satisfied.
This project by Godspeed You! Black Emperor one of my personal favorite in their catalog. This project perfectly blends the ideas of hope and chaos, longing for peace and an end to conflict. fourteen years later I can say this, and the rest of the band's discography has, and still is aging perfectly. We can only hope the world can heal.
A very long wait for an album with a list of underwhelming tracks, but an even longer list of amazing tracks. The tracks we got is not what I expected, but it's still amazing.
I don't know what I just listened to but but I like it.
Amazing flows, lyrics, and vocals. This album is super versatile and I love it for that.
Greatest album ever made.
