Love to have them back. Elias alone is good, but the band makes a difference. The album itself is kinda step back to a more punk territory than previous two, that were rather post-rock. For me it is a slight dissapointment but, overall, They still have it.
She is so back to her best! Intense, powerful and delicate at the same time, mature endavour. My ears are happy. She was not better than this ever since CHOIRGIRL HOTEL. Give her a try!
After all those years they still got it. Their first release (Go Tell Fire to The Mountain) was rough, almost not completed but still fresh, innovative and enduring. With the new one thay got into the league of almost perfect albums. A bit more mature and polished but did not loose any of their magic. Tib St. Tabernacle, a Led Zeppelin-esque epic, outstands everything elese on the album
Best to date. A fulfilling experience. Any chances for a concert in Europe?
Trying to make an opus major on a prominent figure like Baldwin is either success or failure. Or both. For me this album is a masterpiece, maybe even the best of Meshell's entire carrier. Packed with great narration and innovative musicianship.
