This is just boneless Suicide. Daniel Miller has the emotional range of Sheldon Cooper, and the music on Warm Leatherette sounds like the most complex thing that Sheldon could produce with a keyboard as well.
Apparently that song is quite influential though? I guess it inspired quite a few musicians because they heard it and thought, "wow, I can definitely make a FAR better song than this".

While very repetitive and amateurish, this is one of the most important EPs of all time. Daniel Miller released this before he started the record label Mute Records, which is home to artists such as Depeche Mode, Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, New Order, and M83. This is one of the pioneering works for electronic music.

Daniel Miller's attempt at making Punk music with Synths and it works as well as it sounds, and i mean that in a good way, especially with Warm Leatherette, it doesn't have many notes or what not but it still feels large and confrontational.
