HIM's fifth studio album falls back into the more accessible, people-pleasing side that was showcased on 'Deep Shadows and Brilliant Highlights', with a sound that has been described as more polished for the band. Metal to makeout to. Very soft approach, incredibly melodic and a sort of sunset wholesomeness to a lot of the songs vibe-wise (best way I can explain it). Villes voice is one I adore, and the instrumentals at their best were among the bands stronger ones. It isn't literal perfection like the bands first 2 records or edging it like their third, and some of the moments feel stale in comparassion, but their brilliance is still preserved for the most part. Um álbum símbolo do gothic metal da Finlândia. A maioria das músicas seguem uma certa linearidade e as letras são aceitáveis, apesar de todos os esforços a banda não consegue demonstrar a maturidade desejada.
