The closest project Shadow has to Endtroducing, Despite this being a comp that already has 3 of the tracks from Shadow's debut, one of which being a phenomenal remix, this project still seems to carry its own distinct vibe and feel.

Yep this is easily the second best DJ Shadow project. No doubts, it’s the truth and very much so.. Preemptive Strike is a great compilation release from DJ Shadow, I mean just wow this is incredible stuff. This has almost everything you’d want from a compilation release, this has In / Flux, the entirety of the What Does Your Soul Look Like EP, and even an extended version of Organ Donor! PREEMPTIVE STRIKE: The rise of a (not so) one hit wonder
This might be my favorite compilation album of all time. So much so that by first listen, I thought it was a fully fleshed out album. "Preemptive Strike" is a fascinating collection of singles released on the Mo Wax label between 1993-1997, and includes the "What Does Your Soul Look Like" EP as well (which is, as a matter of fact, my favorite EP of all time).
