I’m just going to get it out of the way: ExitingARM probably isn’t as good as For Hero : For Fool. But I’m getting that out of the way because this album is way too brilliant and ambitious to be bogged down by comparisons.

Without question an album to discover over time; one so awash with subtle (sorry) nuances it could take weeks, months, or even years to excavate the entirety of its bulging musical trajectory.

Because the songs are so dense, and the lyrics nearly unintelligible, it becomes difficult to differentiate ExitingARM from the band's other work, and because of that, makes the album a bit of a disappointment.

Subtle have obscured their strengths to the point that their former misnomer suddenly quite suits them.

Nothing in this indie slurry stands out. You can blink and miss it all; experimentalisms thrown in a blender and indiscernibly poured out.

Finalmente ecco la recensione di exitingARM.
Ma prima di iniziare, c'è da spiegare un pò chi sono i Subtle.
Sestetto statunitense formato da due label-mates dell'Anticon Label: Doseone e Jel, Dax Pierson, ossia un tale che Doseone conobbe in un negozio di dischi e divennero grandi amici, e altri amici di Pierson.
