Cappadonna brings his absolute A game to some bright, NY summertime cookout style production. There's some hilarious bars, vivid imagery, outlandish braggadocio and interesting sotrytelling; everything you'd need out of Donna. Iconic.
Honestly, compared to the previous releases, this album is quite solid. The production is ambitious and fairly consistent throughout, though the vocal mix is uneven, with varying volumes from track to track. Overall, it’s an enjoyable listen, but not enough to push the rating into the green tier :P But overall solid effort.
Not the greatest album or anything, but surprisingly better then what I've come to expect from the guy at this point. I mean, it's sort of passeable, but it's fairly well produced and even Cappadonna himself has some highlights in terms of rapping performance here and there. Could've been way worse, honestly.
