Still waiting for that authentic kimilsongist black metal. Likeable riffs, production that helps sell their improvished image and decent short songs. Is it mind blowing? No. Is it fun larp? Yes. Not much to say other than that, it doesn't really stand out. Second track is great though, beautiful riff on that joint.

I listened to 백두의 소환 and have kept thinking about it since. This selection of demos is really decent and has me looking forward to what Kuryong have coming next.
백두의 소환 is a pretty interesting showing of what Black Metal band 구룡 claims to be smuggled North Korean metal. While I personally find it unlikely that this is the case, its a fun little concept that got me interested in listening in the first place. The production isn't great, but also that sort of plays into the trope, and nonetheless I found it to be enjoyable (there are plenty of black metal projects with worse production). Fun little listen. Haven't found a source that verifies that these guys aren't from DPRK that isn't propaganda. Whether they are or not, this is insanely good and I love how low-quality the production is.

Have not seen a gleaming light upload get so much traction in a long while lol. Quite solid shit that does its thing and carries on. The riffs are killer but that's about the most enjoyment this has to offer.
