With Absolution, Ashbringer have, in my humble opinion, delivered something special. The blend of melody and harshness, coupled with cross-genre creativity will keep me coming back to this album.

Beautifully crushing. Restrained yet multi-layered. Ashbringer's 'Absolution' is the kind of album that demands your attention. Drawing influences from a wide range of genres, the album effortlessly glides along. At no point does the 8 tracks at 68 minutes in length seem like a chore to listen to. Every aspect of the album feels carefully curated yet purely organic.
This album fulfills it's task perfectly. It's packed with harsh vocals, but somehow feels tranquil and delicate. If you compare this to Agalloch's "Ashes Against the Grain" being like wandering through snowy and desolate mountains. This is like walking through a beautiful and wild forest, while not being welcomed there. Ashbringer has the skill to include harsh, raw and gritty sounds, while still having a immensively immersive and atmospheric experience that feels real and serene. The ... read more
Better than the Muse album of the same name. Having nothing but shrieky guitars and a dreamy and psychedelic atmosphere makes for a very good album.
Favorite Track: Spiritual Architecture (one of my favorite songs ever)
