Swan Songs is a glorious surprise from one of rock’s most exhilarating outfits. A bookend from their Pirouette era’s extravagant gloom, the three songs serve as a reminder of why Model/Actriz’s evolution remains most compelling.
QUICK THOUGHTS
Any EP Model/Actriz drops in 2026 was always going to be excellent, whether that be with the harshest and most abrasive of industrial sounds or the softer and sorrowful vocals that Cole Haden owned on 'Pirouette'. 'Swan Songs' gets a mix of both and feels like a bite-sized version of what makes this band so alluring: snarky dance-punk that can go from electrifying to vulnerable and bare.
Brief Review: First song is really fucking great, second one is honestly prob their most boring track to date, and the third one is pretty good. Always cool to hear songs that didn’t quite make the cut of an album, especially from a band of this level of quality.
