This is Isis' best work and a strong full-length debut.

Overall, Celestial is the soundtrack to a collapsing tower and sounds just as violent as this image; you can take it on its own terms or listen to something less unforgiving.

If it’s more direct than future albums, if its energy sometimes gets in the way of its composition, it’s still no less vital of a sound.

Yuck. Celestial contains some of the nastiest metal I have ever heard. Beefy, chugging riffs that completely run you over, backed with thumping percussion and rumbling bass that can quickly give way to harsh breakdowns of noise with muffled screamed vocals lying at their center. The album slowly gets more repetitive as it goes on, with the SGNL interludes doing little to diversify things, but that isn't enough to take away from the sheer ferocity of the band's core ideas.

Maybe a hot take but I think these are still the hardest riffs that the band ever made, especially on the Title track

Pretty solid album. This is another ChatGPT album that surprised me. I’m a big fan of sludge metal (Acid Bath is my favorite metal band), so hearing a whole ass sub-genre was fantastic. Celestial (The Tower) is a banger.

While sounding very different from the rest of the albums, its not a bad debut album. In fact, quite decent. The heaviest and frankly most headbanging ISIS album. It looks like they were still trying to figure out the atmosphere they're trying to capture and did a not half bad job at it, its a pretty enjoyable debut album.
