The majority of the Bayside discography is strong, but since this is their eighth album I can't say that I'm showing up with super high expectations. The songwriting remains above average, but the lyrics left me feeling nothing this time around. Either I'm now jaded on this kind of pop punk, or they need to take a chance and try something new with the next record.
Bayside delivers what their brand makes best. Self aware healing potions for the walking wounded.
The main advancement here is cleaner vocal production.
Another formative album for my music taste, this album takes me back to a different time. I like the wacky tempos some of these songs use, and how it’s never consistent. Good album.
