The Swing retains the new wave pop sense and rock attack of their earlier albums, while adding a stronger emphasis on dance rhythms. At the same time, the group's songwriting had improved, with more than half of the album featuring memorable hooks.
INXS move on after Shabooh Shoobah and enter the next stage of development: more cohesive albums. It's especially noticeable with the string starting at Dancing On The Jetty, which is a great track sequence lasting until Face The Change, which is eh. But the two songs after that close the album pretty well. All The Voices gets too much hate.

Sometimes the synth is a little excessive but I'm quite happy we got "Original Sin" out of it.
