From its opening blast of shattering “glass,” it’s clear that Flatland, the debut LP by Berlin-based artist Objekt (a.k.a. TJ Hertz), means to make a statement.
Flatland is experimental to its core, but it never considers polish and passion to be mutually exclusive.
Really cool album but I wish this was 90+ material. Objekt’s debut album in Flatland is a pretty good IDM and UK Bass album. There are some wild bangers on here but I feel there’s these slower paced tracks that really lower this album down from a high 90 to this score. Because I mean the high energy tracks are excellent and superb even, but I think some of these slower paced tracks just didn’t really need to be on here if ya ask me. i have a migraine and am pained by any overbearing sound at the moment, and this project came at the perfect time. super satisfying, spacey, and enjoyable idm, a really cool project. :)
