It's proggy, inept, embarrassing and pretentious. In fact, it's terrible.
I really don't know what to think of it. I don't love every part of it musically, his voice isn't the greatest and some of the more avant folky parts even kind of turn me away, but there's such a clear beautiful love here that I haven't felt in music in a pretty long time. In songs like A Picture Of Her, I feel like crying but can't really decipher why, and Was has me in that same emotionally vulnerable state despite its extreme minimalism.

Recommended by Jade ages ago, but I’ve just now gotten to it. I’ve kinda been holding off since I remember Gallo not exactly being the best person politically, but thankfully there doesn’t seem to be much of that in this album. had a instagram dm conversation with gallo where he said "butterfly", a new album, was coming out on december but the label dropped it after his angry pro-trump discourse on the platform. such a sadly beautiful man making such sad, beautiful music. hard to understand his sad and ugly shenanigans . guess he's just scared
